MEMBERSHIP

Membership of S.A.C.C.R.A. is open to any South African indivudual who is aligned with its ethos and willing to abide by the regulations agreed to on subscribing.  Any member found to be dishonouring the agreements and regulatory standards will immediately be suspended.  Membership does not automatically assign accreditation.  In other words not all members will automatically be accredited suppliers or therapists.

Accreditation occurs only once a supplier or therapist has been verified to meet and maintain the regulatory standards described by the executive council.  S.A.C.C.R.A. is committed to hosting educational workshops, forums and courses to ensure access to these standards for all.

MEMBERSHIP

The simplest way to become involved is to become a Contributor to the S.A.C.C.R.A. legal lobby.  Contact Janet on Whatsapp 083 559 4720 or Jason or 072 8211 708 for the relevant form or download it under the HOME tab called S.A.C.C.R.A. Contributors.

Initially, membership is entirely to support the active S.A.C.C.R.A. Lobby to ensure legal free and fair access to responsible use of the Cannabis plant for all.

All members agree to honour the fundamental regulatory agreements of S.A.C.C.R.A. as described in the prospectus so far (and as may be developed further) thus ensuring the highest standards of excellence set.

Membership does not automatically accrue S.A.C.C.R.A. accreditation.

All applications are processed based on standard membership, until a member applies to be inducted, and meets the requirements of active membership.

Accreditation is required for any commercial Cannabis use where S.A.C.C.R.A. members are involved.  The accreditation process is available to members via the structural councils.

All member subscriptions are deposited into the S.A.C.C.R.A. DEVELOPMENT TRUST WHOSE BENEFICIARIES ARE CURRENTLY PAID UP S.A.C.C.R.A. MEMBERS.

Within a legal industry:

  • All S.A.C.C.R.A. members must be accredited to be involved in a commercial Cannabis enterprise.

  • All commercial Cannabis enterprises owned by any member agree to contribute 10% of nett profit to their Local C.C.A. Trust.

  • All C.C.A.s contribute 10% of nett income to the S.A.C.C.R.A. Development Trust.

STANDARD MEMBERSHIP

Standard Membership

A standard member is not actively involved in the running of the local C.C.A. and/or the S.A.C.C.R.A. councils, but who participates with, or wishes to support, the current S.A.C.C.R.A. Cannabis Community development movement.

A standard member pays a monthly subscription fee of R100 to contribute to the S.A.C.C.R.A. Development Trust and thus contributes to S.A.C.C.R.A. action and initiatives in the legalisation process, and in establishing local C.C.A.s with related initiatives.

Standard members who wish to apply for active membership must have attended a Cannabis Conversation - "Introduction to S.A.C.C.R.A." at a cost per person relative to the costs involved depending on where it is held.

Members receive the following benefits:

  • Notice of and priority entry to any talks, workshops, events, facilities or activities with a ten percent discount on any S.A.C.C.R.A. organised activities.

  • Access to information and promotional materials.

  • Access to an experienced, well informed attorney via our advocate to handle initial contact for a Cannabis only related offence, and to organise police bail when applicable.

  • This initial contact fee is covered by S.A.C.C.R.A. and excludes any bail amount.  The member has acces to the  SA.C.C.R.A. Constitutional Court argument as a defence.

  • The attorney can assist with requesting the court to outsource the case to him/her via legal aid.  Failing this, thereafter the member finances his own defence.

  • Under license/a legal industry - Priority access to S.A.C.C.R.A. verified and accredited suppliers, practitioners and growers all of whom are committed to the excellence engendered by the regulatory agreements.

  • Queue priority on testing at any S.A.C.C.R.A. facility.

STANDARD MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE A SHARE OF AND/OR A VOTE IN THE LOCAL CANNABIS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AND RELATED LOCAL TRUST AS THEY ARE NOT ACTIVELY CONTRIBUTING TO THE TRUST.  THEY ARE BENEFICIARIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT TRUST.

ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP

Active members are fully involved in the running of local C.C.A.s as well as the S.A.C.C.R.A. councils and campaign, whether at local or national level and/or are contributing to the local C.C.A. Trust via the economic model.

Active members are fully informed as to what S.A.C.C.R.A. actually is and stands for and are able to communicate this clearly and effectively.

An active member pays an annual subscription fee of R200 (to be reassessed as necessary by the elected executive council), as they are actively involved in the lobby and are contributing their time, person and energy to the association. The annual fee is for a full financial year and membership is renewable annually.

An active member must be nominated, seconded and voted on by their local C.C.A. Council initially and the S.A.C.C.R.A. Executive Council thereafter.

The member must show their understanding of and motivation for application for active membership of S.A.C.C.R.A. and be fully inducted.

Active members who are not involved in a cannabis related commercial enterprise also contribute 10% of nett profit of their private income to their local C.C.A. Trust, the beneficiaries of which are the active members of the local C.C.A.

The local trust is managed by the local C.C.A. Representative Council.  The purpose of this is to keep the economy local rather than directing it all through to central revenue services.

Of that C.C.A. nett income, 10% is contributed by the C.C.A. to the S.A.C.C.R.A. Development Trust, to be used to support and develop C.C.A.s, related businesses, community development initiatives and projects on an interest free/low interest loan basis.

Active members receive all the benefits of standard membership, and HAVE A SHARE OF AND A VOTE IN THE C.C.A.  AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TRUST, and are responsible for running the local Cannabis Community Association, and by elected representation, the S.A.C.C.R.A. Executive Council and Development Trust.

Active members who fail to be responsible and do not partake in local C.C.A. meetings, events etc. will be given sufficient warning, and voted on by other active members in their C.C.A. The C.C.A. representatives will decide whether to revoke membership, or return the member to standard membership for a probation period, after which they can re-apply for active membership.  The S.A.C.C.R.A. Executive council will arbitrate any grievances
